-The Birds are one of the few teams that are looking at 49ers free agent DL Ricky Jean Francois according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
– The Birds worked out West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith in Morgantown on Monday. Smith is likely the best QB prospect in this draft, though this is a weak quarterback crop. ProFootballTalk.com was the first ones to report it. Geno threw 42 touchdowns to six interceptions last season. He also completed 71% of his passes.
-Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Eagles are one of four teams in on 49ers safety Goldson. Schefter:
SF, PHILLY, DET, TB – in play on Dashon Goldson – but DET, TB considered favorites. TB also in on CBs Sean Smith, B. Grimes, DRC.
-All that hype around Danny Amendola coming back to the Birds was put-out by Dave Spadaro. Spadaro:
The reported interest in FA WR Danny Amendola is not true.
Thanks Dave. In 11 games last season Danny caught 63 passes for 666 yards. He also tied an NFL record for receptions in a half on Sept. 16. He caught 12 passes against the Redskins.
– Jeff McLane of the Inquirer is still on board with the Eagles going after “Revis Island”. McLane:
There’s already a rumor brewing in certain NFL circles that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has been crunching the numbers and putting together an offer to bring the 27-year-old Revis to Philadelphia.”
-The Birds are also checking out Raiders DE/DT Desmond Bryant according to Jason Cole of Yahoo!. He’s started 18 games over the past 2 seasons for the Raiders moving between DE and DT collecting 9 sacks.
– Steelers free agent LB James Harrison is interested in the Eagles. Tim McManus of Birds 24/7 spoke to Harrison’s agent Bill Parise. Parise:
They are one of the teams that we have talked about. I think the Eagles would be a good fit with his skill set and what they want to do there.”
The Eagles have 34 million to play with. They could have 45 million to play with if the decide to finally cut Nnamdi. That’s all I got folks. Here is a weather update for you…
