This is a cool story that I somehow missed at first. A 7 year-old blind kid asked Ryan Howard to hit a homerun for him. So of course, Ryno hit a bomb for him.
On Friday night, the Phillies hosted Teacher Appreciation Night at Citizens Bank Park. Several local teachers were honored in a special pregame ceremony. In attendance was 7 year-old blind kid named A.J. He nominated one of his teachers.
A.J, who was diagnosed with Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA), then got to meet Howard down on the field. That is when he asked Howard to hit a bomb for him. Howard ended up hitting a bomb in his first at-bat leading off the second inning against Ricky Nolasco.
Nice job Ryno. Nice job…
